Having both returned to their favorite club last season, the striker and the midfielder are in a situation of failure. And today, their comeback could end with a departure in the next winter transfer window.
Olympique Lyonnais and Jean-Michel Aulas believed in a fairy tale to turn things around. Eighth in the Ligue1 standings at the end of the 2021/2022 season, the Rhone club had repatriated Alexandre Lacazette and Corentin Tolisso , two of its best talents from the training center. Two choice recruits supposed to help Les Gones regain, not necessarily the top of Ligue 1 , but at least the European Cup.
Unfortunately for all parties involved, the fairy tale is turning into a nightmare Le Progrès even assures this morning that the Lyon management is seriously considering parting ways with its two executives. The reason is quite simple: OL no longer want two players with questionable performance paid a fortune, namely €5.4 million/year (Lacazette, under contract until 2025) and €4.8 million/year ( Tolisso, under contract until 2027). Not to mention their huge signing bonus. In short: if teams come forward to recruit them, the door is wide open.
