This is a pretty crazy story. A few days ago, live on television, the Algerian coach of Tanzania Adel Amrouche declared that Morocco controlled everything on the Confederation of African Football side, even the referees. Controversial remarks which did not please the highest authority of continental football at all, which immediately opened an investigation. In the meantime, Tanzania and Amrouche played the first match against Morocco and lost (0-3) . This Friday, the sanction fell. CAF suspended the former coach of MC Alger for 8 matches. But that's not all, Tanzania has also decided to separate. And ironically, he is replaced by the so-called Hemed Morocco.
“The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended the coach of the national team (Taifa Stars), Adel Amrouche, for eight matches. The sanction was pronounced yesterday by the CAF Disciplinary Commission after a complaint filed by the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) against coach Amrouche. The FRMF complained to the coach for his statements that Morocco had influence within CAF to choose when to organize matches as well as influence over referees. In another move, the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has suspended coach Adel Amrouche. Following this decision, Hemed Morocco was named interim coach and he will be assisted by Juma Mgunda ,” we read in the press release.
