Chelsea: Thiago Silva attacked by supporters

After Chelsea's relapse against Middlesbrough (1-0) in the first leg of the League Cup , some fans of the London club are losing patience with their team. At the end of the match, Thiago Silva, as a good captain, went to greet his supporters who made the trip to the stadium of Michael Carrick's men, 12th in the Championship. But the Brazilian was whistled and booed by his own fans. The former PSG player tried to speak with his supporters, in vain. The Blues captain failed to play the role of peacemaker.

Later in the evening, Mauricio Pochettino wanted to clarify the confusing situation: “make no mistake, the supporters were reacting to those of Middlesbrough. Thiago and some players were trying to calm down our fans, because I think there was a problem between the fans. We have to be careful what we say to the media or our supporters. Don’t confuse our supporters . ” Already in bad shape in the league (10th in the Premier League at mid-season), Pochettino's men only have the cups to save their season. They will have the return match in a fortnight at Stamford Bridge to try to secure a place in the League Cup final and reconcile with their supporters.
