Saudi Arabia: Toni Kroos denounces whistles against him

A few months ago, Toni Kroos reacted to the various transfers to Saudi Arabia . He was clear, he did not want to go to a country that did not respect human rights. Yesterday, during the first semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup between Real and Atlético in Riyadh, the Saudis tried to make him go through hell by whistling him the whole match, with every touch of the ball. German champion received boos from a majority of the stadium.

Toni Kroos reacted following the match for Sports Illustrated : “They say we play ambitious football, but it's all about money. Going to Saudi Arabia is a decision for money and against football. Footballers have to make this decision themselves, like Cristiano, who did in the latter part of his career. But it becomes very difficult when players who are in the middle of their career and who have enough quality to be in the best clubs in Europe decide to accept these transfers. The Real Madrid midfielder then had fun with it on X. In a sarcastic tone, Toni Kroos praised the atmosphere: “It was fun! The fans are incredible . ” After the match, Carlo Ancelotti was offended by these whistles: “I don’t really understand them” . Words also accompanied by boos in the press room.
