Asked this morning about the news from the Blaugrana club, the Barça boss could not help but tackle the Merengues again. Excerpts.
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are walking hand in hand for the Super League project. But in La Liga , the two eternal rivals never miss an opportunity to tackle each other. And recently, it's against a backdrop of refereeing scandal. Casa Blanca criticized the Culés for the Negreira affair (the Blaugranas are accused of having benefited from arbitration favors in exchange for payments) and the Catalans returned the favor to the Merengues after recent arbitration controversies in favor of Madrid (notably against in Almeria).
Questioned this morning on RAC1 radio , Laporta spoke about Real Madrid. “Madrid is not behaving well. They are showing unacceptable cynicism: they have asked for the extension of the investigation into the Negreira affair. What Real Madrid TV is doing is a shame, I don't know how they allow themselves to do it. The Spanish federation should say that this is a way of putting pressure on the referees .
Laporta tackles Madrid again
A new proper tackle from a club relegated to third place in the Liga standings , ten lengths behind the 2022 European champions. But Laporta did not stop there. The Blaugrana president has once again accused Real Madrid of being the darling of referees and even believes that Casa Blanca is the most advantaged team since the introduction of video assistance.
“It is obvious that Madrid has always been favored by refereeing decisions. The match against Almeria was a shame and everyone saw it. And on the other hand, they say that the referees are helping Barça. This is not true and we are very busy. (…) I have always been against VAR, because it makes football lose its spontaneity. If a referee makes a mistake, imagine five or six. For me and for many people, it is obvious that Madrid is one of the most advantaged teams . Florentino Pérez will appreciate it.
