Real Madrid-Leipzig: Benjamin Šeško's disallowed goal causes scandal!

Real Madrid faces RB Leipzig this Tuesday evening in Germany, on the pitch of the Red Bull Arena , in the round of 16 first leg of the Champions League . A long-awaited meeting which got off to a flying start for the Germans from the 2nd minute. Indeed, after a poorly pushed corner by Andriy Lunin, the ball subsequently returned to Xaver Schlager whose volley bounced on the ground to head towards the far post. Well placed, Benjamin Šeško pushed the ball back into the net but the referee of the match, the Bosnian Irfan Peljto, finally signaled the Slovenian offside.

But in the slow motion images, the Slovenian international does not seem to be in an illegal position at all, quite the contrary. Rodrygo covers the area in front of his goalkeeper. The goal should have been validated contrary to the referee's decision. To see if the latter judged that Benjamin Henrichs was playing a game or bothering the Ukrainian goalkeeper. This should cause a lot of ink to flow in the European presses this evening. A scandal which could cost Marco Rose's men dearly, who made a very good start to the match, despite the goalless score approaching the break .
